Privacy policy
Your flying record is private.
This policy explains the information FlightLog uses to provide account access, cloud synchronisation, roster assistance, reports and beta support.
Information you provide
- Account information, including your email address.
- Pilot profile details you choose to enter, such as name, licensing authority, licence number, home base and operating role.
- Logbook information, including flight dates, routes, aircraft, times, roles, crew names, notes, take-offs, landings and passenger counts.
- A private roster subscription address when you connect roster synchronisation.
- Feedback you deliberately submit during testing.
How information is used
Information is used only to provide FlightLog: authenticating your account, synchronising your record across registered devices, importing or updating rostered duties, generating reports, protecting future flights, restoring backups and responding to support reports.
Storage and security
Account and logbook records are stored in a secured cloud service and restricted to the signed-in account. The roster subscription address is encrypted. On iPhone, authentication tokens use the iOS Keychain and the app can be protected with Face ID or the device passcode. No security measure can provide an absolute guarantee, so pilots should also retain regular exported backups.
Sharing
FlightLog does not sell personal information and does not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking. Information is processed by service providers that supply authentication, database, hosting and roster-fetching infrastructure solely to operate the app. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.
Diagnostics and feedback
When you choose to include diagnostics with feedback, FlightLog sends the app version, technical counts, data-validity results, device environment and recent roster-sync outcomes. Names, email addresses, licence details, crew names, notes and the private roster address are excluded from that diagnostic attachment.
Retention and deletion
Your information is retained while your account is active and as needed to operate and secure the service. Flight records and a roster connection can be deleted separately. To permanently delete the account, profile, logbook, devices, roster data and support history, open Settings in FlightLog and choose Delete account and all data. The deletion is processed immediately and cannot be undone. If you cannot access the app, email supportatflightlog@gmail.com.
Your choices
You can correct logbook and profile information, disconnect roster synchronisation, remove registered devices, export a portable backup and request deletion. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to access, correct, restrict, object to or erase personal information.
Children
FlightLog is intended for professional and adult pilots. It is not directed to children.
Changes
Material changes will be reflected on this page and, where appropriate, communicated in the app or release notes.
